Ethical Clothing Australia WLN HEADER JULY 2

Victorian Women’s Leadership Network

It’s well-known that the textile, clothing and footwear industry is deeply gendered, with approximately 77% of the workforce identifying as female – it is a space where women are founders, owners and entrepreneurs, but also one in which women are overrepresented in issues including poor working conditions, exploitation and unequal pay.

If you are a Victorian business accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia, your commitment to protecting the rights of all workers is already clear, and through our Women’s Leadership Network, you will be able to meet, connect, learn and collaborate with other women from accredited businesses in Victoria.

In 2024, Ethical Clothing Australia will offer an array of in-person events, including:

  • Professional development workshops
  • Book launches, author events and conversations
  • Social gatherings including movie nights, breakfasts and coffee catch ups
  • Mentoring opportunities both within the network and externally
  • Opening Ours events: where members of the network can host at their studio, factory or office and share their story with the network.
  • Plus, exclusive events for members of the network during Ethical Clothing Australia Week 2024 (7-13 October 2024)

We will also stay connected with the network through an exclusive bi-monthly email newsletter where the Ethical Clothing Australia team will share news and events, celebrate the achievements of our network community, and offer practical resources relevant to our industry.

Our Victorian Women’s Leadership network reflects the diverse, vibrant community of women in the TCF industry and is uniquely designed to support you at any level – from encouraging emerging leaders to honouring the knowledge and experience of established women in the industry. We hope you will be part of it.

The Ethical Clothing Australia Women’s Leadership Network is being delivered as part of our Victorian government funding.

Please note: when Ethical Clothing Australia refers to women, we are always including trans women, gender diverse people and non-binary people.
